civil union obtained by a Massachusetts resident and his former partner, who lives in
Arkansas. The decision marks the first time a Massachusetts court has recognized the

Massachusetts court dissolves civil union, citing Massachusetts gay marriage ruling

BOSTON -- A state judge has dissolved a gay couple's civil union in a case believed to be the first to cite the landmark high court decision legalizing gay marriage since it came down in November.

BOSTON - A Vermont civil union between two men has been dissolved by a judge in Massachusetts, who cited a state Supreme Court decision as giving him the power to do so.
